Project Cost: $4,460,000 Project Overview The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program, has initiated a safety project to establish roadway departure zones along portions of State Route 87 (mileposts 247-251, 283-316), State Route 260 (milepost 240-252) and State Route 179 (milepost 299-305).

The Arizona Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Federal Highway Safety Improvement Program, has initiated a safety project to establish roadway departure zones along portions of State Route 87 , State Route 260 and State Route 179 .

Due to existing trees, shrubs and other vegetation along these highways, the existing roadway departure zones do not meet state or federal standards. As a result, ADOT needs to remove the vegetation to re-establish the departure zone.
