After the deal is completed, the Hornets plan to waive the veteran guard to allow him to become a free agent, the league source said. Graham averaged 5.0 points and 2.1 assists for the Spurs last season.
The Spurs acquired him in a trade deadline deal in 2023 with New Orleans that also netted them four second-round picks in exchange for guard Josh Richardson. The Spurs will increase their cap space to nearly $26 million by shedding Graham. The Hornets will pay the $2.85 million guaranteed on the last year of Graham's contract before waiving him. The Spurs faced a July 8 guarantee date on his contract.
