The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Bestway are recalling over 866,000 AirJet and HydroJet Spa Pumps due to overheating risks that could ignite the plastic housing and cause fires.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Hong-Kong-based Bestway are recalling the AirJet and HydroJet Spa Pumps out of concerns the product could overheat, causing the plastic housing to ignite and possibly start a fire. The recall involves about 866,000 units. The model numbers are P05332, P05339, P05711, P05807, P07000, P07001, P05511, P07034, and P07572. The CSPC said so far, three fires have been reported related to the spa pumps.
Seven more incidents are also under investigation, possibly involved in the spa pumps. The CSPC is advising consumers to immediately stop using the spa pumps and contact Bestway to receive a free replacement or a refund of $100 for AirJet spa pumps or $189 for HydroJet spa pumps.The pumps may be sold separately or in a package with an inflatable spa liner in different colors, styles, and inflatable spa sizes.
