Seven suspects, believed to be part of a sophisticated South American theft ring, were arrested by Sonoma County authorities in connection with a home burglary in Windsor. The suspects are accused of using advanced tactics to target Asian-American business owners across the United States.
Authorities in Sonoma County , California, announced the arrests of seven individuals suspected of involvement in a home burglary . The suspects are believed to be part of a sophisticated theft ring originating from South America. Around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sonoma County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a robbery in progress at a residence on Chablis Drive in Windsor.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered evidence of forced entry and secured surveillance footage depicting three suspects inside the home and a fourth suspect operating a vehicle outside. Detectives from the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Property Crimes Unit meticulously investigated the incident and identified the suspects as members of a notorious 'South American Theft Group'. This organized crime network is known for its extensive travels across the United States, frequently targeting Asian-American business owners. Authorities further revealed that a previous group of five suspects, also suspected of belonging to a South American theft ring, had been apprehended by Santa Rosa police in December. The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office emphasized the advanced tactics employed by these groups, stating: 'These groups operate with a high level of sophistication, often using disguises, surveillance cameras, and other covert tactics to monitor their victims for extended periods.' Collaborating with the Santa Rosa Police Department, detectives successfully identified a suspect vehicle and located a residence on Baird Road in Santa Rosa, where the suspects were believed to be staying. On Saturday, detectives, armed with a search warrant, descended upon the residence. During the execution of the warrant, authorities reported that all occupants of the house attempted to evade capture or conceal themselves, but were ultimately apprehended. Subsequent searches yielded evidence directly linked to the burglary. All seven suspects were arrested on suspicion of felony charges. The suspects have been identified as Jeisson Gonzalez-Munoz (40) of Los Angeles, Brandon Ruez (24) of Los Angeles, Milton Ruiz-Cardona (aka Jeison Nieto-Rodriguez) (49) of Los Angeles, Jeisson Rodriguez Solaque (27) of Chico, Nicolas Duran Cetina (21) of Oakland, Stefany Nieto Preciado (25) of Los Angeles, and William Patino-Galinda (22), a transient. Authorities revealed that Ruiz-Cardona possessed an outstanding felony warrant from Orange County. Each suspect is currently being held on $250,000 bail, following the judge's approval of bail enhancements for the suspected criminal organization
