Social Media makes kids unhappy, study finds

The meta research was conducted by experts from the Oxford Internet Institute and subsequently published in the prestigious Nature Communications.

The data showed a negative correlation between estimated social media exposure and several different key factors measuring life satisfaction . As you can see from the overly-scientific graph below, the more social media kids aged 10-15 absorb, the lower their life satisfaction scores get .

There are peaks and valleys but the trend is clearly visible, especially with young girls. It might be the fact that for teenage girls appearance on social media tends to be much more important than for boys.
