The California State Parks Department said the state is anticipating a moderate-to-strong wildflower bloom this year thanks to a series of storms that drenched the Golden State. In Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the landscape is already lush with blooming wildflowers thanks to the rain.Brianna Pinto of the California State Parks Department described the San Diego County state park as experiencing a “beautiful winter wildflower bloom.” “These are fleeting events that transform the landscape of the desert from something that’s brown and dry into a colorful array of desert sunflower, sand verbena and dune evening primrose,” Pinto said. Video posted by the agency shows a beautiful array of purple, orange and white flowers in the desert.
