While it likely won’t be anything significant for the state’s northern region, the storm could pack a big punch in the southern half of the Garden State, where 6 to 8 inches of snow may accumulate, according to forecasters. Some forecasters think as much as 6 to 12 inches of snow could pile up in far southern New Jersey . But they stress the predicted snow totals could change, up or down, depending on the exact track of the storm.
Forecasters from AccuWeather are predicting 3 to 6 inches of snow across most of the southern half of the state, with some narrow bands of heavier snow, and 1 to 3 inches of snow in the central and north-central counties. The National Weather Service’s regional forecast office in Mount Holly is calling for varying snowfall totals in different regions of New Jersey. The agency is predicting as much as 6 to 8 inches of snow across far southern New Jersey, 3 to 6 inches in other areas of South Jersey, 1 to 3 inches in most of Central Jersey and an inch or less in North Jersey. This is the latest snow forecast from the National Weather Service for most of New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, eastern Maryland and Delaware, as of late Saturday afternoon. The National Weather Service’s New York regional office, which issues forecasts for Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union counties, is calling for less than an inch of snow for those areas of New Jersey along with New York City.
