High heat intensity and steam melts the snow that goes into the sewer drains to get as much snow as possible out of densely populated neighborhoods.City officials say the restriction is meant to allow plows and emergency vehicles to operate safely.All trash and recycling collections are suspended on Monday, January 26. Collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.following this weekend's winter storm. Regional Rail, Bus, Access Paratransit and Metro Routes T & G , which were all suspended Sunday afternoon, will be gradually restored on Monday as conditions allow. Once service is operating, Regional Rail will follow a Saturday schedule, and Bus and Metro will follow a Monday schedule. The Market-Frankford , Broad Street , Suburban Trolleys and the Norristown High Speed Line have continued operating throughout the day on Sunday. Customers should expect delays, trip cancellations and longer travel times on these services for Monday.
