Wind gusts of up to 30 mph could result in blowing snow and reduced visibility, according to the weather service, especially in Palmer and Wasilla.

An area of low pressure will bring winds and a mix of snow and rain starting late Tuesday and lasting through late Wednesday, according to. Anchorage and the surrounding area will be impacted, along with much of the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and the western Kenai Peninsula. The Weather Service expects it to begin snowing in Anchorage and across the Kenai Peninsula on Tuesday, and in the Mat-Su early Wednesday morning. The statement said “a couple inches” of snow is expected for much of the Southcentral region. That’s expected to transition to rain on Wednesday as temperatures rise.
