Gasp. Negatives? How could there be? SMU has craved a return to prominence for nearly four decades now. Heading west andPush your chips in the pot and go all in. This is Texas, after all, so there’s no need for SMU to fold ‘em.Therein lies the gamble and the risk.. Since then, it’s felt like an inevitably in public discourse that SMU, as well as San Diego State, would eventually join the Pac-12.

“I don’t think it’s a matter of if, I just think it’s a matter of when the Pac-12 extends the official invite to SMU ... at this point,” Brett McMurphy, the reporter who broke the news of Kliavkoff’s visit, told On3 on Feb. 14.: "I don't think it's a matter of if, I just think it's a matter of when the Pac-12 extends the official invite to SMU ... at this point."
