Jones told a co-worker he was feeling sick and going to be gone for a couple of days.: When he went to PNC Bank, he withdrew $2,500 in cash and then told many of his workmates … he said, I'm not feeling that well. I'm gonna be gone for a couple of days. I've got some things I got to take care of.
Sgt. Kmetz noticed there was only one ping from Jones's phone off a cell tower located in the Fort Pierce area – approximately 25 minutes from Vero Beach. So Kmetz had dispatch alert local authorities there, to be on the lookout for Jones's gold Honda and Diana's black Nissan.: Fort Pierce PD had located Mike Jones's car.
