By approximately 2:00 PM ET, Slack reported that users should no longer face problems loading threads, adding users to group DMs, or receiving notifications.
While monitoring the situation, Slack assured users that services were returning to normal.Several colleagues at The Verge reported similar problems on their Slack channels, including myself, who noticed repeated notifications for thread messages already marked as read. The issues also appeared to affect user tags, rendering pings ineffective. For users experiencing delayed responses, direct messaging was recommended. Personally, I observed some notifications arriving minutes after the initial message was sent.Adding new members to group chats (multi-person DMs for up to nine people) was also disrupted.
