Kolisi grew up in the Zwide township in the Eastern Cape but rose above poverty to become a beacon of hope for many South Africans.And that symbol of"hope" lies dear to Kolisi's heart. Kolisi explained the need for telling"his story" at a recent Springbok press conference in Cape Town.I just want to give a young Siya, whoever it is... black, white, coloured or Indian, it doesn't matter... a little bit of hope to know that change can happen. You mustn't lose hope, and you can dream big.
Kolisi's likeable personality shone through at that press conference. Before sitting down, the Bok skipper tried to greet every journalist in attendance - either in the form of a handshake, hug or fist bump. "Some of the problems that are happening in our country... gender-based violence etc... it's all because men don't want to come right, we don't call each other out.
