The crash resulted in the deaths of Hays County preschooler Ulises Rodriguez Montoya, 5, and Bastrop resident Ryan Wallace, 33.
Six families connected to the deadly school bus crash in Central Texas that killed two people filed a lawsuit against the driver of the concrete truck and the company he worked for. The lawsuit comes after a Pre-K teacher who was injured in the crash filed a lawsuit against the driver, Jerry Hernandez , 43, and the concrete company, F.J.M. Concrete.
Truck driver who hit school bus had history of drug violations, records show Authorities say Hernandez veered into an oncoming lane on Texas 21, hitting a bus that was carrying 44 preschoolers from Buda’s Tom Green Elementary and 11 adults. They were returning from a field trip to the Bastrop Zoo. The Texas Department of Public Safety said Wallace was driving behind the bus before the crash and struck either the concrete pump truck or the bus.
