A grand jury found two Hays County Sheriff's deputies acted in accordance with Texas law in the shooting death of a man near Buda.

A Hays County grand jury has determined that sheriff's deputies were justified in shooting and killing a man near Buda in January. The jury declined to issue an indictment in the killing of 35-year-old Kenny Lee Estrada on Jan. 5, finding the deputies acted in accordance with Texas law, according to the Hays County district attorney's office.

According to officials, the morning of the shooting, Estrada was attempting to force his way enter a home on Hunter Creek Cove, which is southeast of Buda. A caller to 911 said the man was their daughter’s ex-boyfriend and was armed with two knives, the Hays County Sheriff’s Ofice said.
