It’s been a good few years for celebrity biopics, what with the success of Bohemian Rhapsody, which told the story of Freddie Mercury and Queen, and Rocketman, an homage to Elton John.
The 75-year-old said he would be ‘flattered’ if he got a biopic made about him, and reckons Notting Hill star Rhys Ifans could play him – if he is willing to get a makeover. If Rhys does agree, Rod’s son Alistair, 14, is already lined up to play a younger version of his dad, with the singer saying: ‘Alistair has offered to play me when I was 14 as there is a remarkable similarity.‘If it does not happen it does not matter but I would be flattered if it did.’But even if the story of Sir Rod makes it to Hollywood, he acknowledges that Bohemian Rhapsody – which won Rami Malek the best actor Oscar for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury – will be a tough act to follow.
