A Cedar Grove woman says in court papers she was hurt on Oct. 1, 2020, as she pushed the cart toward the entrance of the ShopRite in Belleville.

A New Jersey woman has filed a lawsuit against ShopRite of Belleville claiming she was seriously injured when the wheels on a shopping cart she was pushing locked, throwing her into the air and over the cart.

“The wheels on the cart suddenly and violently locked plaintiff was violently thrown above and over the cart with her whole body,” states the suit, filed Sept. 26 in New Jersey Superior Court.
