IPOH: A shop here has been issued a RM2,000 compound for selling N95 face masks at RM14 each – more than twice the government’s ceiling price of RM6.
V Ravichandran, the chief enforcement officer of the domestic trade and consumer affairs’ branch in Perak, said he had received complaints about the matter yesterday.“The investigation found that the shop was selling N95 face masks for RM14 per unit compared to the maximum price of RM6,” he said in a statement last night.
The shop was given the compound as the operator had violated Section 11 of the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011. Ravichandran said so far, the ministry’s branch in Perak had received 703 complaints and inspected 31,344 business premises.Fake or not? Check our quick fake news buster
