A shooting incident occurred at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport's Terminal 4, resulting in multiple gunshot victims. The incident involved a group of individuals who knew each other, and police have detained suspects.
Operations at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport 's Terminal 4 were temporarily paused due to an investigation Wednesday night. Phoenix police officials were called to a restaurant within Terminal 4 around 9:45 p.m. for reports of a shooting.Investigators learned a shooting took place when a group of people got into a physical altercation that led to one person pulling out a handgun and shooting multiple people.A woman and two men were taken to hospitals for treatment of gunshot wounds.
Police say the woman suffered life-threatening injuries. A man, who had suffered other injuries, and a juvenile were detained in the parking garage, police say.Police say everyone involved knew each other and is accounted for. The shooting occurred within the airport terminal, but outside of the security checkpoints. No other community members or visitors were injured during the altercation, police say. As a precaution, Terminal 4's 'A' security checkpoint was temporarily closed and Sky Train operations were also paused at Terminal 4. Officials say the incident has been resolved and operations are back to normal.The investigation is ongoing
