Authorities are investigating a triple shooting that took place at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona on Wednesday evening. Phoenix Police airport officers responded to reports of a shooting at a restaurant in Terminal 4, located outside of the security checkpoints. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found three victims, including one adult female and two adult males, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were promptly transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The adult female is in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, while the two adult males are listed in stable, non-life-threatening condition. In connection with the incident, an adult male and a juvenile female were detained in the airport's parking garage. The male was found with at least one stab or cut wound and was also taken to a hospital, where he is in stable condition. Sergeant Mayra Reeson of Phoenix Police told Newsweek: 'Preliminary information suggests a group of known individuals engaged in a physical altercation that escalated to one subject retrieving a handgun from their person. During the incident, four people were injured and two individuals were detained. All five of the individuals involved are known to each other. No other community members or visitors were injured.' Airport operations at Terminal 4 A security checkpoint was temporarily closed and PHX Sky Train® operations were paused at Terminal 4 as a precaution.
