Friends and family honored the life of 70-year-old Darla Williams on Saturday after she lost her life in a powerful tornado in Logan County.
ABC 6 News went to the memorial and talked to some people outside. One woman says Williams had "a heart of gold," and that she will be "deeply missed." March 23, 2024 Friends and family honored the life of 70-year-old Darla Williams on Saturday after she was killed when a powerful tornado hit Logan County.Williams lived in Gieger Mobile Home Park, and her house was heavily damaged in the EF-3 tornado that ripped through the Lakeview area on March 14.
She went so fast, and God must have wanted her," the woman said. "My heart would say she went to a good place." The woman says she knew Williams from the neighborhood for most of her life. She says the memorial was a gorgeous dedication to who she was, and that she was brought to tears after seeing how many people showed up in Williams's honor.
It is quite a privilege for people to be able to pay homage and love her so much, because she was a funny lady," she said.
