Solana Beach Mayor Elected as Chair of San Diego Association of GovernmentsSolana Beach Mayor Lesa Heebner has been unanimously elected as the chair of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) for a two-year term. Heebner succeeds former San Diego County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Nora Vargas and will lead the organization in planning, building, and providing critical infrastructure and resources for the San Diego region. Joe LaCava, San Diego City Council President, was elected as SANDAG vice chair, and Santee Mayor John Minto was elected second vice chair.

Wildfire Evacuees Find Fur-Ever Homes in San DiegoDogs evacuated from the Los Angeles-area wildfires are finding loving homes in San Diego. The San Diego Humane Society collaborated with the Pasadena Humane Society to transfer animals to make space during the fires. Many San Diegans, like Glen Koshko who adopted Blaze, are opening their hearts and homes to these displaced pets. The San Diego Humane Society is also hosting an adoption initiative to help clear shelters and support animals in need.
