David Hesford was sentenced in his absence by a judge
David Hesford, 55, was sentenced in his absence at Liverpool Crown Court today after going on the run in October 2022. He had pleaded guilty to sexual assault, causing a person to engage in sexual activity without their consent, and voyeurism at an earlier hearing; and was found guilty of administering a substance with intent following a trial in September, which he also failed to attend.
In a statement, the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said since the incident she has "nightmares and severe issues with sleeping."
