Musician and former Ohio State football player Mekka Don has created the official “winning anthem” for the Columbus Clippers, a song fans will hear after every home win at Huntington Park. The collaboration blends music and baseball, giving fans a new way to celebrate victories and energizing the ballpark experience throughout the summer. Mekka Don told ABC 6 that the goal was to create a track that reflects the spirit of the city and its diverse fan base. “You want to get something that captures the energy of the fans, the diversity of the fan base,” he said. “You have people coming from ages two to ages 90,” said Don. For the Columbus native, the partnership is a natural fit. He grew up attending Clippers games and has built a name creating anthems tied to Ohio sports, making this latest project especially meaningful. “Me being from Columbus and growing up going to Clippers games and doing anthems for a lot of the sports teams in Ohio just seemed to make sense,” he said.
