Thewas first reported around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Antonio ABC affiliate KSAT. The shooter barricaded himself inside an apartment complex for several hours in a standoff with the San Antonio Police Department.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus held an impromptu press conference near the incident around 10:30 p.m. and explained to local media about what transpired. It was initially reported that only four police officers were shot during the incident. “First officer arrived to that call. There was a call from a family member,” McManus said. “He arrived on the scene, and he wound up being shot, shot in the lower extremity. Another officer, who arriving after him, or about the same time as him, was also shot. Third officer arriving on the scene shot as well. And then, finally, the fourth officer who arrived on the scene was shot, believe that was in the upper torso.”“This is all preliminary information, could change,” McManus added.
