Two men were listed in stable condition after separate injury shootings in East Oakland neighborhoods this week, authorities said.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday, police said dispatchers received a call about a shooting near Fruitvale Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard in the city’s Dimond district.
When officers responded to the area, they found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound, and provided care until first responders took them to a hospital for treatment. The victim was later listed in stable condition, police said. In a statement Wednesday, police said they received a call shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday reporting a person in the city’s South Stonehurst neighborhood reporting a shooting.
When officers arrived in the 9900 block of Pearmain Street, they learned that a 35-year-old man, who had sustained gunshot wounds to an arm and a leg, had obtained his own transportation to an area hospital. He was later listed in stable condition.
