STARK COUNTY , Ohio - The convicted sex offender who kidnapped a woman at knifepoint, was sentenced Monday morning by Judge Chryssa Hartnett . On Feb. 4, a jury found Jamie Triplett guilty on a number of charges and on Monday he was sentenced to nine years and nine months in prison.
Jackson Township police said the 31-year-old woman was grabbed around 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 17, 2025 from the Rodeway Inn on Sunset Strip Avenue NW.The woman, whose name we are not reporting, was found safe the next morning at the Perry Inn on Lincoln Way in Perry Township. According to court records, Triplett is a Tier III sex offender with a 2012 rape and kidnapping conviction. He was released from prison on Feb. 18, 2025. Triplett violated probation and was tossed back into the Stark County Jail on July 9 for a period of 90 days with jail time credit back to May 27, 2025.
