Senate eyes Red Cross help in testing frontline staff COVID19
MANILA - The Senate plans to tap the Philippine Red Cross in its COVID-19 testing, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian said Tuesday, after 18 of the chamber's workers tested positive for antibodies that may be linked to the disease.
"If we have a skeletal force and our own staff coming in regularly, then it's a must that we use the PCR so that we will know very surely whether they have the virus of not," Gatchalian said. The Senate earlier passed a resolution that gave senators the option to attend session through teleconferencing, but several personnel are still required to physically attend sessions to ensure that proceedings will be in order.
