Young, who is known for his fundraising prowess, has consistently dominated McDermott in raising cash every quarter.
Sen. Todd Young still had a massive reserve of campaign finance dollars as of the start of this month when compared to his opponent Democrat Thomas McDermott Jr.,In the third quarter, McDermott raised $478,000, while Young raised $1.2 million, in what's viewed by pundits as a safe Republican race.
As of the end of the third quarter, Young had $5.5 million cash on hand, compared to McDermott's almost $397,000.In a sign that the district is not in play for Democrats, , the race is considerably low-dollar when compared to the 2018 Senate race between Republican Sen. Mike Braun and former Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly, when in the third quarter of the year both candidates raised at least $3 million.Meanwhile, Indiana's 1st District is turning into a pricier contest, as Democrat Rep. Frank Mrvan works to defend his seat against Republican Jennifer-Ruth Green.
Green outraised Mrvan in the third quarter, raising just under $1.4 million, compared to Mrvan's nearly $1.2 million. Mrvan had $390,000 cash on hand compared to Green's $910,000 cash on hand, at the end of September.
