Vance of Ohio said Monday he won’t “lobby” to be former President Donald Trump’s running mate, noting plenty of other good choices are available.
“It’s ultimately Donald Trump’s decision; there are a lot of talented people to pick from,” Mr. Vance said on “Fox & Friends.” “If he asks me to serve, I will certainly do it.” Mr. Vance is on the short list to become Mr. Trump’s vice presidential choice ahead of the GOP nomination in July. Mr. Vance was critical of Mr. Trump during the real estate mogul’s initial political rise. Now the senator says he was wrong and fully supports him.
