The USC football program still has its final tour through the Pac-12 this year, but on Thursday the Trojans got a peek at their Big Ten future as the conference announced its schedule pairings for the 2024-25 seasons.
The Big Ten will be going away from divisions once it expands to 16 teams with the additions of USC and UCLA next year. Schools were given up to three protected annual rivarly matchups, which will be the case for the Trojans-Bruins crosstown showdown, as expected. Otherwise, USC will face a rotating mix of Big Ten opponents.
Every team will play every other conference opponent at least twice – once home and once away – in a four-year period. For 2024, the Trojans' conference slate will include home games with Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin and road games at Maryland, Northwestern, Penn State, Purdue and UCLA. For 2025, USC will host Indiana, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State and UCLA, while traveling to Minnesota, Ohio State, Rutgers and Wisconsin.
