UPDATE: Dallas police said a security guard has died after being shot by a suspect who was trying to break into vehicles at Preston Center West

The shooting happened just before 3:30 p.m., when police were called to the 8200 block of Westchester after a suspect who was trying to break into cars was confronted by a security guard.Police said the security guard was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died.FOX 4 crews said investigators appear to be focusing on a parking garage off Kate Street.
