A second San Antonio teacher has been placed on administrative leave after being linked to a statewide certification cheating ring. The San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) confirmed that Taylor, a teacher at John Jay High School, is currently on leave pending the outcome of the Texas Education Agency (TEA) investigation.

This development follows the earlier placement of Edouard, a history teacher at Taft High School , on administrative leave for the same reason.
The investigation into the cheating scheme, which is reportedly worth over $1 million, is being led by the Harris County District Attorney's Office. According to court documents, an estimated 430 tests were taken fraudulently, and more than 210 unqualified teachers were certified in the scheme. These teachers are now practicing or have previously practiced in schools across Texas. KSAT was the first area media outlet to report a San Antonio connection to this statewide scandal. Earlier this month, KSAT obtained a list of 60 new names of teachers under investigation by the TEA. Most of these teachers work in the Houston area. Taylor was hired as a teacher at John Jay High School in 2022 and previously worked as a substitute teacher at the same school in 2021. Edouard, on the other hand, was hired as a history teacher at Taft High School in August 2024 and previously worked at Del Valle Independent School District in Travis County
