New York Giants rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo starred as their team defeated reigning Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles 34-17. Running back Skattebo ran in three straight touchdowns at MetLife Stadium, becoming only the second Giants rookie to achieve the feat.
They were even happier about returning to the win column. Sparked by six second-quarter touchdowns, the Wolves built a big halftime lead and easily dispatched the J.A.G. Jaguars 56-24. The win snapped a three-game losing streak – all region losses to state ranked teams – for the Wolves, who improved to 4-3 overall and 2-3 in Class 7A, Region 2 play.
J.A.G. fell to 1-6 and 0-5. “We had not played at home since Aug. 28 as we have been on the road for six straight weeks with a bye week in there and we got a win,” Dothan head coach Jed Kennedy said. “We will keep working. Our kids are working hard. They believe in what we do. “This is a tough region and any time you get a win, you take it. We will enjoy this through tomorrow then we will get ready for Smiths Station.” People are also reading… Leading the Dothan charge was senior running back A.J. He also caught one pass for 35 yards. “He is the best player I’ve ever coached and he is a special kid,” Kennedy said. “We are going to enjoy the heck out of having him for the amount of weeks we have left with him.” Alexander scored the first of his touchdowns on Dothan’s first possession, capping a 3-play, 48-yard drive with a 6-yard scoring run. Everyone that suited up got to play. We had 93 players step on the field. They all put in the work, whether they are the best player or the worst player, they all put in the work and played tonight.”
