Seattle police's homicide detectives are now conducting a "delayed death investigation" in north Seattle regarding a car prowl incident that occurred last month. Police said on June 24, patrol officers responded to the 6900 block of East Greenlake Way N. after receiving reports of a car prowl involving a male suspect who was potentially armed with a knife in a parking garage.
Responding officers found the man unconscious and began rendering emergency medical aid, police said. Medics from the Seattle Fire Department arrived at the scene and continued medical aid, and the man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition, police said. While investigating, officers said they determined the owner of the vehicle interrupted the car prowl and confronted the man before the two got into a physical altercation. Police said during the altercation, the car prowler fell unconscious, and the vehicle owner separated from him.The vehicle owner remained at the scene and cooperated with police. At this time, no arrests have been made.
