In the last two weeks, schools across the nation, including in Central Texas, have been flooded with threats of school violence, resulting of the arrests of sev

"I want to be clear that gun violence against or at schools in our community will not be tolerated," Travis County District Attorney José Garza said. "If you make a threat against a school, you will be found, you will be arrested, and you will be held accountable. The consequences for people who make threats, including juveniles who make threats, can be severe."

Chief Sneed spoke alongside a number of other officials, including AISD Superintendent Matias Segura, Travis County District Attorney"I want to be clear that gun violence against or at schools in our community will not be tolerated," Garza said. Asked by a CBS Austin reporter what was contributing to the rise in these instances, AISD Superintendent Segura said, "I think the impact of social media has really had a profound impact in the way that our young people engage on social media. Things that they might otherwise think isn't a threat, actually is a threat. So making sure that we're educating our young people so you know what is appropriate, what is not, that's something that we've identified.
