Police are investigating the death which is being treated as unexplained.
A worried mum who lives close to where a burning body was found in Motherwell says she plans to leave amid fears of a rise in violent crime.
Residents woke up to forensic officers in white suits carrying out a detailed examination of the grassy spot where the body was found.The worried mum continued: "A dog walker found the body this morning. “It is a strong community and I know that people will help the police in any way they can. There is no reason that has come to my attention to suspect there is any danger to the local community.”
Several police vehicles remained stationed on the road throughout the afternoon as officers carried out enquiries.
