PETALING JAYA: Selangor coach B. Sathianathan has lodged a police report over racial abuse against him on social media.
The former national team coach has been the target of netizens after his outburst against racism in the local football scene.
Sathianathan had slammed Selangor fans who racially abused leftback K. Prabakaran after the team’s 1-1 draw with Perak last Saturday. The 61-year-old was also accused of “favouritism” towards those “of his own skin colour”. The former international said he had no choice but to lodge a report at the Shah Alam IPD yesterday as the racial abuse only got worse after his outburst.
“It’s getting out of hand and it must stop, so I lodged a report. It’s now up to the authorities to investigate and take action, ” said Sathianathan.
