At 40, the Untimely Demise axeman is still always looking to step up his game.

As Untimely Demise morphed from punk to metal, Cuthbertson says the thrash icons from Megadeth were his group’s “number one” source of inspiration.guitarist who launched his own recording studio after exiting the band.

By 2014, armed with studio experience and plenty of live shows under their belts, Cuthbertson and the rest of Untimely Demise set out on a European tour that produced some of his favourite memories. Besides, Cuthbertson adds, he has often spent so much time after shows chatting with audience members and other musicians that it leaves little time for anything else.

The pair got married in 2017. Erin says living together and being in a band with Cuthbertson has let her see firsthand how hard he works on his craft.Article content Cuthbertson relishes moments when he’s playing in front of thousands of people and it feels like he’s “making it.” But he stays grounded living in Saskatoon, the city he loves, and where he feels most comfortable.
