“Humans are fundamentally interconnected — the art created parallel to another artist or partner is undoubtably influenced by the other. “It is a reminder that for every civilian fighting to defend the liberty of Ukraine, there are many family members, including elderly parents and grandparents, left with the anguish of worrying about their loved ones. It’s also a touching tribute to the intergenerational transmission of cultural practices, and what is at threat of being destroyed in Ukraine — that is, Ukrainian culture itself,” said executive director and CEO, and exhibition curator, Jen Budney.
