Saros has a range of weapons available to players as they explore Carcosa, though because of the randomized nature of gameplay, it's hard to know what you're going to get on any given run.
Fortunately, every weapon in the game has its merits and can be extremely deadly in the right hands. Much like its spiritual predecessor Returnal, weapons in Saros each have a primary and alt-fire attack, and there are a total of 19 main weapons to be found across the entirety of the game. Further, players will be able to utilize an extremely deadly Power Attack, of which there are four found across Carcosa during Arjun's journey.
The below Tier Lists have ranked the weapons in Saros based on overall deadliness and feel, but it's important to note that every weapon in the game is extremely viable, and there are by no means any truly terrible options. Further, each weapon becomes more effective the more you upgrade individual attributes in the Armor Matrix, which should impact player's weapon selection decisions as well.
Saros: Best Main Weapons Tier List There are 19 main weapons to be found in Saros as players explore the entirety of Carcosa, and while you start off with some of the"simpler" weapon choices, such as Handcannons, Rifles, and Shotguns, more powerful and unique options are found in the mid-game. Below you will find S-Tier down to C-Tier rankings for each of individual weapon type: The Onslaught Rifle is by far my most-selected weapon during any playthrough, from the early game all the way to the end.
While there are many great options, the Onslaught Rifle is the most reliable option in the game. Pound for pound, it deals the most consistent damage, gives players a focused target option with its Alt-Fire attack, and has an extremely smooth Perfect Reload. It's also available early in the game, and can be extremely deadly against bosses like The Prophet.
Next on my top three is the Bifurcator Crossbow, which is hands-down the most deadly of the crossbow options in Saros. While the other two crossbows have homing attacks, both of the Bifurcator's attacks feature homing mechanics, and practically speaking it means that Arjun never misses a shot. Equally OP is the Reaping Chakram, which is incredible against hordes given the Alt-Fire creates a sort of forcefield that will shred nearby enemies to bits.
In terms of the lower-ranked weapons in the C-Tier, I'd argue that, while certainly viable to a certain degree, the Marksman Handcannon, Stalwart Shotgun, and Ripsaw Chakram have controls that require a bit more precision or require more focused aiming/targeting. For example, the Marksman Handcannon deals immense damage when charged, but only against a single target, and you have to be a bit of a crack shot.
Saros: Best Power Weapons Tier List When it comes to Power Weapons in Saros, you also can't really go wrong, and there are only four options to choose from. That said, there's a clear contender in my view for lowest rank with the Dispiritor, which can definitely be a powerful and clutch option, but doesn't deal the immediate massive damage that's on offer with Prominence or Nova Lance.
Similarly, Illumine is extremely good for dealing single-target damage, but not as useful against multiple enemies. In my experience, Prominence and Nova Lance are both useful in a wider range of scenarios than both Illumine and Dispiritor, largely because of the AoE radius for Prominence and the ricochet mechanism on Nova Lance that can both wipe out multiple targets and/or deal massive damage against Alpha enemies and bosses in Saros.
