Texas coach Steve Sarkisian encourages QB Quinn Ewers to push through adversity

The message resonated with Ewers because the 48-year-old coach delivering it had lived out some bad days of his own. It’s sometimes easy to forget just how young Ewers is. And the pressure placed on the former Southlake Carroll showstopper has only intensified with every jaw-dropping dime and each new endorsement deal.
Ewers’ performance against Oklahoma State would’ve been more concerning if it were a trend rather than an anomaly. But the redshirt freshman was both electric and efficient throughout his first four appearances, completing 67.7 percent of his passes for 820 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions.
He’s not dwelling, though. Ewers reviewed the tape, broke it down with Sarkisian and quarterbacks coach AJ Milwee, then moved on to this week’s matchup with No. 13 Kansas State .
