Someone stole an ambulance in San Francisco Monday evening and led police on a chase down the Peninsula and into the East Bay.

San Francisco fire crews said their ambulance was stolen shortly after 6 p.m. Monday while paramedics were responding to an emergency in the Outer Sunset.California Highway Patrol officers pursued the ambulance until the driver's recklessness forced them to quit the chase.
