Weather averaging 10 degrees hotter than normal this January, not letting up anytime soon

According to the National Weather Service the temperature reached a high of 85 degrees in San Antonio on the first official day of fall.With highs expected to reach the upper 70s on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the low to mid-80s the following day, weather in the greater San Antonio Area continues its trend of above normal temperatures.
“The last few days, the 13th and 14th, are the only two days so far this month where temperatures average below normal,” said White in an interview Sunday, citing a trend that stretches back to December as well. Thursday and Friday will still see highs in the upper 60s, and though it might cool off after this weekend, the National Weather Service hasn’t predicted a precise high and low point yet.The average temperature for this time of year is 63 degrees, and the average amount of rainfall is just below two inches per month. Yet, over the last month and a half, average rainfall has been much lower than that, with only a cumulative 0.48 inches since Dec. 1, according to White.
