However, where people live can have a big influence on how successful they are at staying in good health, so the best cities are the ones that provide the greatest access to high-quality healthcare, green spaces, recreation centers, and healthy food,"analyzed over 180 major U.S. cities.
"Generally speaking, cities in the southern states tend to have less of an emphasis on a healthy diet and exercise. This is one reason why the southern states are referred to as the stroke belt. But within these states, there are many healthy cities. Given that the rankings are not very good, you sort of have to give a subjective assessment of a place that you’re thinking about moving to.
