Robert Lee Collett Jr., was 38 when he was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter in the Nov. 20, 2020, crash that killed Sylvia Santoy.said Collett was driving in the 16500 block of U.S. 281, near Brook Hollow, about 1:30 a.m. when his pickup crashed into the back of Santoy's sedan. She died at the scene.
Collett, now 40, entered a plea of no contest to one count of intoxication manslaughter, according to online court records. He was sentenced Monday. Had he gone to trial on the intoxication manslaughter charges and been convicted, he could have faced up to 20 years in prison on the second-degree felony.The case was heard by Judge Frank J. Castro presiding in the 399th District Court.
