The awards are designed to celebrate the best of London football, with players eligible if they are from the 16 men's and women's teams that play in the British capital. Last month Kerr missed out on the three-person shortlist for FIFA's most prestigious individual award, the FIFA Best award, for the first time since 2020.On Sunday, the Matildas star scored a brilliant winner for the Blues as they beat title rivals Manchester United 1-0 to go to the top of the Women's Super League by two points with a game in hand.Sam Kerr has scored 83 goals in 103 appearances for Chelsea.
James was also honoured at the London Football Awards ceremony, named the Women's Young Player of the Year.This season her goal haul has included four-goal bursts against Albanian side Vllaznia in the Women's Champions League and against English rivals West Ham in the League Cup.
