Sally LaPointe's 15th anniversary collection was a vibrant celebration of the brand's DNA: bold, colorful, fun, and edgy. The show featured a dance performance by Supa Girlz and showcased LaPointe's signature monochrome looks with added pizzazz. The collection was inspired by the theme of endurance, drawing parallels between sport and fashion.
On Sunday afternoon, Sally LaPointe took over the official National Basketball Players Association practice court in Midtown Manhattan and turned the energy in the room up to a 10. Or perhaps a 15 — the fall runway spectacular, featuring a dance performance by the hot pink-clad group Supa Girlz, kicked off the brand’s yearlong 15th anniversary.
“It’s very synonymous with sport, so I started looking into the meaning of that. Having agility and being able to withstand hardships and perfecting your craft over time,”told WWD leading up to her show of its tie between sport and fashion. The pep rally feel throughout the show played to the theme, as did the collection’s adorable crystallized basketball handbags.
