KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Pakatan Harapan's stand to side with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajii Noor's government in the recent political crisis was justified as it restored political stability in the state.

Its chief Datuk Christina Liew said she and the seven Sabah Pakatan assemblymen held many discussions when the political turmoil started last week.

Following that, it was a race between GRS and Barisan-Parti Warisan on which party could secure the support of 40 assemblymen, which is the simple majority needed from the 79-member state assembly to form the state government. Liew, who received her first official briefing as tourism minister from the agencies under her on Friday, pointed out that it was time to leave politics on the backburner and get back to work.
