Nottingham Forest skipper Ryan Yates has hailed the club’s recruitment as they continue to scale new heights this season. Forest’s 3-0 win over West Ham on Saturday lifted them up to third in the Premier League – their highest league position since August 1998.
“There are many things that have gone into why we are doing well,” said Yates, ironically a product of the Forest academy. “I think the recruitment has been fantastic. We have kept the core together and we are doing really well. Forest put the Hammers to the sword at the City Ground thanks to goals from Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina. Their efforts were made easier by West Ham going down to 10 men on the stroke of half-time when Edson Alvarez was sent off for a needless second yellow card, but in truth the hosts were well on top even before the dismissal.
“It’s really disappointing, because we knew coming here that it was going to be a tough match and we weren’t able to keep that control.
